Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority initiated the procedure for using the security of travel undertaking Kumari Reisid OÜ [private limited company]

Travel undertaking Kumari Reisid OÜ (registry code: 10951423) informed the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (CPTRA) on the 25th of May, 2020 that due to their solvency they are unable to perform their obligations from package travel contracts, which resulted CPTRA to initiate proceedings for using their security.

CPTRA is gathering the claims of travellers to refund payments made on the traveller’s behalf under a package travel contract if the package is cancelled, compensate payments for the cancelled part of the package and refund to travellers for an unused package gift voucher.

To submit a claim, traveller must fill in and sign the corresponding form, which can be found on the CPTRA website. The claim together with the relevant additional documents must be sent not later than the 24th of June, 2020 to e-mail address [email protected] or by postal service to Endla 10a, 10142 Tallinn, Estonia.

Claims submitted after the designated period of time will be rejected.

The travel undertaking Kumari Reisid OÜ has two valid securities for a total amount of 20 000 euros (issued by AB “Lietuvos draudimas“ Estonian branch).

The tour undertakings security is used for the return of the traveller to their place of departure or another agreed place if the package travel contract includes carriage of passengers, for the refund of the payments made on the traveller’s behalf under a package travel contract if the package is cancelled, for the payment of compensation for the cancelled part of the package and for the refund to the traveller for an unused package gift voucher.

For travellers who paid for the package with a credit card, we encourage you to contact your bank to inquire the possibility of canceling the payment.

For travellers who have taken out a travel cancellation insurance, we encourage you to contact your insurance company and ask whether the insolvency of the travel undertakind is covered by the insurance.

Individual travel services (such as only a flight ticket or only accommodation) purchased from the travel undertaking will not be reimbursed at the expense of the security.
